INTERACID TRADING S.A.
SWITZERLAND
Interacid Trading S.A. (ITSA) was founded in Lausanne in 1970 as a global seaborne trader of petrochemical products. Since its acquisition by Sumitomo Corporation in 1994, it focused on developing outlets for smelters exporting sulfuric acid overseas.
Over time, Interacid invested in the development of tank terminals and distribution network in key deficit countries in the Americas and Asia.
Today, as one of the largest trader and shipper, ITSA specializes in the seaborne origination, and shipping of sulfuric acid, serving Interacid’ internal network as well as large customers in the mining, fertilizer, chemical or industrial markets. By leveraging a highly diversified pool of purchased and sales contracts, a global storage capacity exceeding 300,000 MT and local representatives across the world, ITSA can provide the flexibility and reliability required by suppliers and customers.

INTERACID TRADING (CHILE) S.A.
CHILE
In 1993, Interacid established two companies in Chile, Interacid Trading S.A. (ITC), a company based in Santiago dedicated to the trading of sulfuric acid and Interacid Chile Limitada (ICL), a company handling the storage and dispatch of sulfuric acid to end-users.
Both companies were merged in 2008, and established as Interacid Trading (Chile) SA, to better coordinate the sulfuric acid supply to copper leaching projects in the north of Chile by sourcing the acid requirement from national producers as well as from overseas.
Interacid Chile has a maritime terminal located in Chile’s Region II (Mejillones). This region consumes approximately 80% of the sulfuric acid used in mining operations. The total storage capacity of the terminal is 155,000 metric tons. The terminal facilities allow the receipt of vessels of up to 80.300 metric tons (deadweight).
The above-mentioned terminal is also equipped to dispatch the acid in trucks (up to 280 trucks/24 hours) and rail cars (up to 8 trains of 28 cars/24 hours) according to the requirements of our clients. Strict compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental regulations are in force.
